Gigawatt Global has a rich pipeline of renewable energy projects, providing solar, wind and hydro electricity, mostly in Africa.
We opened our first field in the US, in Georgia, in June of 2016.
We delivered the first utility-scale solar electricity interconnection under the White House Power Africa program (in Rwanda), and were honored by the US State Department as a finalist for the Secretary of State’s ACE awards in Corporate Excellence & Sustainability.
Gigawatt Global is proud to have been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize in March 2015 following the successful implementation of our Rwandan solar field on the land of a youth village in Rwanda housing orphans from the genocide.
Our 8.5 MW field in the Agahozo-Shalom Youth Village increased Rwanda’s electricity generation by 6%.
Our 7.5 MW field in Burundi started construction in 2020.
